Oh Christmas Tree

I have less then a week now until Christmas break. This being said, it was time to put up my Christmas tree. Every year I decorate it randomly with ornaments, but this year I went with a theme. I present…

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! I have so many things to be grateful for this year. I'm especially grateful for my wonderful family. I had a delicious Thanksgiving meal this evening prepared by my mom with some help from me, Alia, and my dad. We mostly just taste tested everything. The day was lovely, even though, it wasn't quite the same with my sister Mamie all the way in England. What are you thankful for this year?
Have a happy holiday,
Nina x

Snow Fall

...And so it begins. The winter and cold season have arrived. Yesterday (11/12/14) we had our first snow fall in Minnesota. This wasn't just a light dusting either. Around ten inches of snow accumulated throughout the night. I wouldn't mind this weather, if the temperature didn't drop down to single digits. On the bright side the snow does look beautiful, when you are looking at it through the window with the fireplace on.

Trick Or Treat!

Happy Halloween!
Even though it was very cold this year, I still dressed up and celebrated one of my favorite holidays. This year I went as a bundled up Angelina Ballerina. Despite it being less then 40 degrees I still had a wonderful day. My younger sister and I also decorated pumpkins. I called mine Pumpkinmort (Voldemort the pumpkin).

A Touch Of Jet Lag

Hello!
I have to tell you, I had complete intentions on blogging my entire England trip. The wifi (or should I say lack of) in England had other plans for me. This being said, I am home now and excited to catch you up on my trip. The whole jet lag and constantly being tired has also prevented my blogging abilities. I hope now I will be able to keep you more up to date on my ever so "exciting" life. Now that i've given my lack of blogging excuses, I can go back to talking about England. If you've read my post before this one, you'll have read about my very first half day in England. I was in England for a total 9 1/2 days. Throughout this time, I really grew to love the country. Most of my time was spent in London. This is where I saw the crown jewels, and the Queen herself.  The Queen just happened to be going to an event at the same castle I was at and I got to see her arrive with Prince Phillip. That was an experience I won't ever forget. The city of London is beautiful and I got to see so many wonderful things including some of the bigger tourist spots (Big Ben, London Bridge, and the London Eye). While in London, I also went to a movie premier for The Fault In Our Stars. A friend of my sisters named Jordan was working in London and got the tickets for all of us to go. We were all excited, because Ansel Elgort was supposed to show. This all sounds fine and dandy, but let me tell you going across half of London during rush hour to see him, only to find out he isn't going to show, that's annoying. On the bright side I got to watch The Fault In Our Stars for free in a practically empty theatre with my whole family and Jordan. Speaking of stars and star spotting, while in London I got to see Lindsay Lohan's new play. My mom bought last minute tickets for my family to see the play Speed The Plow. It was really cool and really up close. Lindsay did a wonderful job as well. On my second to last day in England, my mom signed us up to go on a tour. A Golden Tour to be exact. On this tour we got to see a castle, Stratford Upon Avon and Oxford.  The tour sounded like a lot of fun, then we met the tour guide. An old man with nobs on his head and thick orthopedic shoes, was going to lead our tour. The whole entire bus ride he gave facts and made animal noises into the bus microphone. While we were on the tour the guide also would yell "GOLDEN TOURS!" and the swing his cane in the air. My sisters and I were laughing so hard we had tears in our eyes. All I can say, is it was memorable. The last day we woke up early to have English breakfast. After that it was off to the tube station and we had to say goodbye to Mamie until she's home again in December. When we boarded the plane, I realized my England journey was over. I had the grandest time, and hope to return soon.
Love from Minnesota,
Nina

Hello London

Today, October 10th I departed the Minneapolis airport and headed to London for the first time with my family. Our flight left at 10 pm and we arrived in London around noon. Let me just say, sleeping on the airplane is not very comfortable. Since we were flying international, they had dinner and breakfast for us. Once off the plane, we took trains to London and then walked a few blocks to our hotel. The hotel room is quite tiny, but it's very cute. After we checked into the hotel room and got settled, we went out and explored a little bit of the area around our hotel. For dinner, we ate at Nando's and it was quite tasty. Probably worth the hype that it gets. The weirdest thing that i' still getting used to is people driving on the other side of the road and seeing the steering wheel on the opposite side of the car. Overall I had an enjoyable first day, but now the time is currently 8:46 and it feels like 1 am due to jet lag and the lack of sleep. I'm signing off for now and headed to bed.
Love from London,
Nina x

Baking Apple Pie

Apple pie is one of my favorite types of pie next to pumpkin. It just reminds me of fall and I think that's why I love it so much. After a little bit of convincing the other day, my mom decided we could make apple pie. She did most of the cooking and I did most of the tasting :). Below are the end results of the deliciousness that is apple pie.

Hello October

Fall is easily my favorite time of year and October is one of my favorite months. Leaves are changing, pumpkins decorate yards, and Halloween is just around the corner.

Happy Birthday Gordy

I was writing a blog post today, when a fat, loving cat named Gordy came to join me. Since today is his birthday, I felt it only fair to put him on my blog. Happy Birthday Gordy.

Play With My Momma

On Thursday last week I won tickets to go see the Book Of Mormon. I've wanted to see this play for so long, and i'm so glad I finally got to see it. I won two tickets, so I brought my mom with me. We both love theatre and wanted to see this play quite badly. Yes, it lived up to all my expectations and was side splitting hilarious.

Baseball and of Course Ice Cream

I've realized most of my posts on my blog consist of ice cream. Is this a bad thing? I think not.  Today my post is no exception and is staying on the ice cream trend, because why not? This afternoon my sisters and I went to a baseball game. I haven't been all year, so it was fun. Later that evening after dinner, my family decided they wanted ice cream. We drove to my favorite ice cream shop. Let me just say banana ice cream and Oreo mixed together is the best tasting thing. Below are some pictures of my day today.

Cat On a Leash

A lovely evening for a bonfire. The sky was perfectly clear and a mostly bug free. The cat even came outside on his leash to enjoy the nature.

Summer Sunshine

The weather was absolutely gorgeous today. Sunny and warm, with a slight breeze. I sat on my porch with my two dogs just enjoying the sunshine. I also stopped to admire the daisies, which are my favorite flowers.

Fourth Of July

Happy 4th of July! I had a lovely day spent with my family. Although it was cloudy and a bit windy, the rain thankfully missed us. In the afternoon we went to a parade and later in the evening we attended a fireworks show. The day was brilliant and I'm so grateful I got to spend it with family celebrating our glorious country. From the lakes of Minnesota, happy holidays!
